ReadyZoneHQ (RZHQ) supported FEMA Region V in developing Consequence Management Support Plans for the 2024 Democratic and Republican National Conventions.

These efforts aimed to ensure readiness for these National Special Security Events. The project involved forming and supporting a collaborative planning team and a senior leadership steering committee, emphasizing strong partnerships across critical sectors such as energy, critical infrastructure, public health, and emergency management at the local, state, tribal, and federal levels.

The planning process adhered to the FEMA Six-Step Planning Process, aligning the plans with the Region V All Hazards Plan and national planning guidelines. Drafting and refining the Consequence Management Support Plans was central to the project, supported by the creation of execution tools such as decision support matrices and field operation guides, ensuring compliance with Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. Exercises validated these plans, with feedback incorporated to enhance their effectiveness. Throughout the process, RZHQ provided consistent support for interagency and intra-agency meetings, workshops, and working groups, ensuring that the final plans were comprehensive, well-coordinated, and capable of addressing the unique challenges posed by the conventions.
