FEMA National Hurricane Program: Program Management Support and Hurricane Evacuation Study (HES) Modernization Project Management (2022-2023)

This project supported the National Hurricane Program (NHP) with the capacity to improve technical assistance to support state, local, tribal, and territorial government partners focused on hurricane evacuation and response, spanning from steady-state deliberate planning to operational decision support and crisis planning when hurricanes threaten the United States and its territories.

Specific task objectives included providing supplemental support for the NHP headquarters (HQ) team, including but not limited to meeting facilitation, note-taking, project management support, and document organization, to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of program management and implementation. This project also focused on the development of a comprehensive governance structure for the National Hurricane Program as well as updates to NHP processes and procedures. The project also focused on updates to the Hurricane Evacuation Studies (HES) Technical Guidelines documentation, which included the provision of a workshop to gather stakeholders/subject matter experts to aid in the update of technical information.
